Laurent Oger

A seasoned EU professional with over 15 years of experience in trade associations in the food industry-related sectors in Brussels, Laurent joined the ECCO team in February 2024, where he is currently Director General of an international food ingredient association.


Before joining ECCO, Laurent was the Deputy Director General of the leading association for crop protection and plant biotech industry in Europe where he contributed to the strategic direction of the organisation, led regulatory and policy teams and delivered advocacy and stakeholder engagement programmes including relationship building with food chain partners, engagement with policy makers and regulators and media outreach. Prior to this last position, he also held a number of technical, regulatory and advocacy roles.


Laurent has a Bachelor’s degree in law and a Master’s degree in EU and agricultural law. He is fluent in English, French (mother tongue) and has a good knowledge of Spanish.
