After completing a double degree in Journalism and Spanish Literature at Ithaca College (USA), Petia did a Master’s degree in “The EU – Management of Community Resources and International Relations” at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain). She started her career in the Representation of the European Commission in Sofia, Bulgaria, as an Information and Communication Officer. Petia then worked for six years as a Policy Officer at the European Commission’s Directorate for Public Health in Luxembourg where she had responsibilities in the field of public health policy, including supporting actions for the implementation of the EU Health Strategy and managing stakeholder engagement. Petia is currently Nutrition Policy Manager for an international trade association in the food ingredient sector. She is fluent in Spanish, English and Bulgarian (mother tongue).
